This event is twofold - The High Country White and High Country Red wines will be the wine club selection for June. This is a wine club pick-up tasting AND a winemaker takeover. We will taste those two wines and then will also have the Gros Ventre Rose of Gamay and a single vineyard Pinot Noir from Mendocino. All four wines will be available that night to enjoy by the glass at The Pip and also be available by-the-bottle to take home.

But of course this has a story…

I met Chris years ago when he was the winemaker at Skinner Vineyards years ago. He has since moved back to the Healdsburg area with his family but continues to work on his own family brand, Gros Ventre Wines.

When I sold wine in Sacramento, I would often stop at one of my favorite restaurants, Magpie, and have a glass of Gros Ventre “High Country” Red. Oh - I love it so much. The bartender, Carmen, and I had a signal for the wine - the “jazz hands”. Jazz hands is how this wine made me feel.

Now we’re lucky to be able to represent the Gros Ventre wines at The Pip AND have Chris in to show & taste & talk about his wines. This tasting is scheduled just before we head to visit Skinner Vineyards on the 13th of June. What a small world!

The tasting will be $10 per person. Since two of the 4 wines are a wine club selection for June, there is no tasting fee for wine club members.
